OUR PROJECT
Winds of Change is a student-led project that aims provide green power for the community and to motivate more people to use it.
There are two projects people in Winds of Change are currently working on.
The first one is building a 1 kW wind turbine from scratch. The turbine will supply clean, free energy to a green space managed by the Cyrenians, a charity that fights homelessness in and around Edinburgh. Our team is working hard to have the system ready for testing in Spring 2023.
The second project is designing a flat packed turbine that will be used for educational purposes.
We want to give students hands-on engineering experience and show that everyone can be involved in the green energy revolution. Throughout the project, we are creating a network of students, academics and professionals who are passionate about wind energy which can be used for future projects.
We are documenting our journey through our development blog. We hope this will inspire others to take on similar projects and give them a blueprint to help them on their way.
