What and how are we actually doing?

We are building a wind turbine. From scratch. Literally.

It involves designing (planning), constructing and maintenance. Last year we started with planning and designing the turbine and finding the location and sponsors. The land for building the turbine is provided by an Edinburgh charity Cyrenians, who are in need of electricity for their community garden.

We formed several teams, assigning each one of them with a task and field of work: Blades, Circuits and Battery Storage, Generator, Structural and Housing, Location and Environmental, Publicity, Funding and Resources.

At this point we’re pretty much done with the design part! We now know exactly what size of the turbine we’re building, how to protect the system from the weather, and we are almost ready to start manufacturing the parts.
